Head coach Neil Harris welcomed the efforts of his players in Cambridge United after marking the beginning of his second person in the Abbey Stadium on Saturday with the victory over Stockport.
Harris left Cambridge to affirmed Millwall last February, but was experienced on Wednesday – together with the former U -boss Mark Bonner, in a new role as Director of Football – and scored two goals from Josh Stokes.

After Harris only had a day to work with his squad, he was enthusiastic about the victory, which also held a first clean leaf in 17 league games.
“It was an amazing effort from the group,” said Harris. “The attitude and desire of the boys and the information they have taken on board for the past 24 hours were immense.
“Today it was about the changing room, the board and the fans. We are a page in a difficult position, and I just have to get the best out of the players who are available to me and believe them and give them confidence. We did that and have to drive it forward. “
Stokes gave Harris and the U is the perfect start when he went home after nine minutes of Liam Bennett’s cross.

Kyle Wootton’s praise was blocked by US keeper Nathan Bishop, and Stokes made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute with a shot from outside the plate, which took a slight distraction on her way to keeper Corey Addai.
Macauley Southam-Hhales put a free header up close over the bar and in the second half stacked the pressure, with Bishop making a flying rave to be denied from Woton after the district striker changed well in the box.
Kell Watts and Elias Kachunga also did well to smuggle the ball off the line after Wootton’s header caused chaos, and in the final phase James Gibbons made a shot out of Sam Cosgrove.
In order to tighten the problems of visitors, defender Callum Connolly was sent in the interruption for a second bookable crime.

Stockport manager Dave Challinor said: “We have created more chances today than we have put together in the last three games, but you have to take these chances. In the first half we missed two sitters.
“It will always be difficult if you give a team that scraped for his life where you can stop.
“We let them play the game they wanted, it was shabby and the field is not beneficial for a good football game. However, this does not mean that we cannot be able to adapt and we have made many bad decisions. “
