Join Cambridge Zero’s Community Day for climate action

The University of Cambridge will organize a free day tomorrow (Saturday, June 28th) with practical climate activities, conversations and community cooperation.

The Cambridge Zero Community Day 2025 organized by Cambridge Zero, the university’s climate change initiative, is an opportunity for people of all ages and examine how we can build a more sustainable and more resistant future.

Visit us in the Student Services Center in Bene’t Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a day full of learning and connection options.

Practical workshops such as battery build-up, virtual reality experiences and climate protection demos with the chaos science roadshow as well as pop-up exhibitions from local climate and community groups such as transition cambridge, cambridge friends of the earth, parkside social action and more.

The conversations and debates include a live panel about sustainability, and there will also be a short film screening of climate fear and action and a citizen jury meeting: “Who should lead climate action?”

The day is completed with a special performance of music and words on the subject of people and nature through the lower Alios choir of the Great St. Mary’s Church.

Professor Emily Shuckburgh, director of Cambridge Zero, said: “Cambridge Zero Community Day 2025 is a fantastic opportunity for everyone in Cambridge to come together – to exchange ideas, to record the cooperation and take measures to build a sustainable, air -conditioned future.”
